Iron Mike

Iron Mike

Third champions club of the summer! The rain held off just in time for us to get the Iron Mike 3k in! What a great workout to end the first month of summer on! For those who don't know who Iron Mike is, his real name was Mike Webster. A Rhinelander alumni, who is without a doubt one of the best centers in NFL history! More on Mike HERE.

This workout like MURPH is a staple of the Champions Club summers and was done for many years prior!

Iron Mike

Teams of 4:

For time:

3k Run

Carrying a 45/25lb plate

Each teammate MUST carry the plate 600M SOLO. NO TEAM CARRYING.

No need for a quote this workout. We do this in honor of Mike Webster. He used to do a 5k ALL ALONE with a 45lb plate. Thinking about that is plenty to stay motivated! With the first month of summer down we are going to find out WHO wants to keep putting the work in and who will burn out! Time to double down and dig deep! Champions keep going when things get tough.

I once again forgot the before picture, but DID remember the after and picture of our champions of the week! Just have to much fun with this crew that I can't wait to get doing!

Baker & Able

Baker & Able
Second champions club of the summer! What a day it was in the weight room! We had another outstanding showing from our athletes who are dedicated to getting BETTER each and every day! We had our previous record fall as we had 30 athletes take up the mantel today and CRUSH this workout! I cannot tell you how electrify the weight room gets on these days! It's truly amazing how these athletes push themselves and each other in a fun and competitive manner!

Another new Champions Club WOD, in Honor of the first ever USA Monkeys to go to space!

Baker & Able

Deadlift

Front Squat

SDLHP

~ 5 Minutes Rest ~

Repeat at lighter weight

Score is average of the two times. Hope you can do some math!!!

For each workout over the summer, a quote will accompany it for athletes to think about while they workout. Today's quote was "Nothing Changes if nothing changes." What a great thing to think about for our lives! Many of us always want the next best thing, even more feel they DESERVE the next best thing. But what have we DONE to deserve it??? If your car tire goes flat and you just sit in the car and complain, that tire is going to stay flat until you DO SOMETHING! The same is true with our lives, that doesn't mean we always GET what we WANT...BUT we do always get SOMETHING out of it. Maybe that something is a thing you didn't realize you even needed.

I did it!!! I finally remembered ALL 3 Pictures from this workout! I should've bought a lottery ticket today now that I think about it...

Autobot Activities

   Autobot Activities

First champions club of the summer! What a day it was in the weight room! These athletes haven't been out of school for a week and they were ready to get into action. We had 27 champions show up this morning, that's right our first week of 2024 and we have a record setting champions club! What a great way to start, now to keep it rolling all summer!

Had a new one this morning, Autobot activities. Teams of 3 for this one, workout in-depth posted below!

Autobot Activities

Teams of 3:

AMRAP ~ 12 minutes

21-15-9 Thrusters (75/55)

21-15-9 Burpee Pull-ups

~ 3 minutes rest ~

AMRAP ~ 9 minutes

15-12-9 Powercleans (95/65)

15-12-9 Bar Over Burpees

~ 3 minutes rest ~

Partner Wheelbarrow walk basketball sideline.

Each partner must get carried by both teammates and carry both of their teammates.

For rounds, one partner works, one rest, one is holding a plate above head (45/25)

Reps only count while plate is above head.

For each workout over the summer, a quote will accompany it for athletes to think about while they workout. Today's quote was "Every chance is a choice." and boy how true that is. When you think about all the chances you have in your life, it is STAGGERING. Somethings you take for granted, but truly everything we do is a chance and our CHOICE is how we approach it. These athletes first took the chance to show up, they then also made the CHOICE to get after this workout. It would have been easy to say "Well at least I showed up." which is true, that's one step ahead of those who didn't. But they took even more steps by COMMITING to making this workout great, pushing themselves to their limits.

What a fun day it was! So much fun I forgot the BEFORE picture AGAIN! I need to start writing that on the whiteboard so I can show the difference from before and after! I also forgot to get our champions of the workout.
